My mom joins a ministry trip and a quick jaunt down to South Africa…

Ministry Vlog:

Watch our March ministry vlog. In this vlog we share how our training team has grown from 2 to 11 in 2018 and Clinton’s trip to a Discipleship Conference in South Africa. Please leave us a comment and let us know what you think.

Sorry we haven’t had an update on the family in a while, but we will get one out to you in April. You can see some family prayer points below.

Thank you for your prayers, your support, your encouragement and walking along-side us as we minister in Kenya. Thank you.

Praises & Prayers:

  • We are in the midst of the rainy season, and although I can hear them repairing the leaks on the roof of our house as I write this, we thank God that the water coming in didn’t damage anything and didn’t get too close to the electrical breakers.
  • The ministry has developed a team of trainers as it continues to expand and become more sustainable. We have grown from 2 to 11 trainers in 2018 so far.
  • Clinton attended a Discipleship Conference in South Africa in February where he meet some wonderful people and received some great direction for potential future ministry.

Prayer Requests

  • Pahtyana’s birthday is April 7th, please pray that we would celebrate her life and that she would enjoy her special day in the midst of a very busy season.
  • Clinton travels for a ministry training trip from March 21st – 26th. Please pray for the family and for safe travels across Kenya during the rainy season.
  • Please join us in praying that God would continue to lead and guide our ministry work in Kenya.

The Final 15!!

At the beginning of November we sent out an update on our family’s journey to get to Kenya. At the time we were at 63% and needed approximately 28 more partners to reach our goal of 100%, which then allows us to move forward and make travels plans. The responses to that email over the past few weeks have been downright amazing!!

We’ve been on this journey to join the team there equipping pastors and ministry leaders in discipleship for two years.  So, we are very excited to share that our current update as of today is  that we’ve reached 8383% of our monthly goal!! This means that we now only need (roughly) 15 partners by December 10th to begin making travel plans for January!!

We lastly wanted to share the INCREDIBLE news that we have 392 people who have joined our team to walk with us specifically providing prayer support! This is huge as we can do nothing without prayer! Thank you to all who are partnering in holding us up!

Please join us in praising Jesus for His faithfulness on this journey to see us through and bring such a powerful team together! Please also join us in asking Him to bring the final 15  soon!

  • For a snapshot of what exactly it is that we’re moving to Kenya to do and why we’re needed, click here.
  • Click here to become one of the final 15 and send us on our way!

Thank you for sharing in our joy and excitement at what has been happening and what is still yet to come!

The Moores & the Ministry… in a Nutshell

NutshellSo, who are the Moores and what is the ministry all about in a nutshell? Here are the highlights and how to get around on our blog.

We have been requested by Kenyan pastors and church leaders to facilitate in leadership development and coaching. This training equips them to establish small groups whose focus is on spiritual development and empowerment through discipleship. A main focus of these groups is to consistently impact the local community tangibly with Christ’s love and welcome people into God’s kingdom through real relationships.

We have been requested by Kenyan church leadership to assist in the creation and resourcing of a national multi-denominational network of likeminded ministries. These ministries all focus on community oriented discipleship and service and are dedicated to building up, equipping and releasing church leaders.

  • Trained over 1,000 people in transformational discipleship ministry to date
  • Churches and ministries have experienced exponential growth and the ability to plant multiple ministries
  • Multiple requests from neighboring countries to receive training and build similar ministry networks
  • Over 300 churches in Kenya alone on a waiting list to receive ministry training and coaching

Pahtyana, Ellyana, Enjolie, Clinton

Through our many years in pastoral ministry, we discovered a calling to discipleship. This first began for us as Youth Pastors working with our staff and students and eventually expanded as we helped launch a house church in 2008. The Lord ignited a passion in our hearts for training and discipling His church in it’s varying formats around the world and has given us many opportunities to cultivate our abilities and experience in this area.  In 2011, the Lord called us to international ministry in Kenya, working with the interdenominational missions agency SIM.  In March of 2014, we will move to Nairobi to begin providing leadership development and coaching for Kenyan pastors and church leadership. This training and coaching results in transformational ministries impacting their communities by bringing the love of Jesus Christ in very tangible ways.  We are thrilled to be joining Jesus in the powerful work of building the Kingdom of God and answering the call to, “Go and make disciples of all nations…”

  • Plan to join the SIM Kenya team March 3rd, 2014
  • Need roughly 10 more monthly partners before we can go

Ahh, the warm rays of 60%

60 percentWe are excited to announce that we have reached 60%!!!! This is a huge milestone because we have really crossed the threshold now. From this vantage point, we only have 40% more to raise before our family can board that plane and then step foot finally into our beloved, Nairobi!

Join us in celebrating this wonderful milestone and giving praise to our amazing Heavenly Father for bringing this about. We now have just a little ways to go!! It makes such a difference to realize that you’ve already raised what is left before you. Takes the pressure off a bit. ;o)

Can’t wait to fly past the next milestones and at loooong last be on our way!

Life at 40(%)…

Cracked PotWell, we continue to be in awe of God as He moves powerfully in our lives! A few weeks ago we gave the message at NorthRock Church in Thornton and to be honest, had no idea what to expect going into it. The two weeks leading up to it were some of the hardest weeks Clinton and I had experienced in this process. In the midst of trying times with tantrums and toddler-ness, we had met with several people that God had brought into our lives and for whatever reason, received no after no after no to partnership. Though we know that’s a part of this process, it’s still hard to go through. Then the final straw came when we had a meeting with someone whose heart, I believe, was meaning to challenge us. However, it came across in a manner that tore us down and greatly discouraged us. For whatever reason we were the recipients of his utter disdain for American missionaries and were put in a position where we had to defend our calling rather than share our calling. Needless to say, we left the meeting feeling pretty dejected and weary.

So, preparing to give our testimony at my home church and come alongside what’s happening there, was something that we approached initially out of a place of weariness. But in the process of that preparation we were reminded of how much God has actually done in our lives and how far He has brought us. So when the time came, we spoke from a place of authenticity and humility. Out of that we have seen the Lord move in very surprising and inspiring ways. We have had the tremendous privilege of meeting with many people now from NorthRock and hearing their testimonies of God’s calling on their lives. We’ve gotten to pray with them and encourage them in their journeys!

In addition to this blessing, God has been moving in these meetings and as we’ve shared our testimony of His amazing presence in our lives, several 40%individuals have felt called to partner with us. As a result, we reached 40% this afternoon!! And the momentum is building! Reaching this milestone today caused me to stop and think for a moment about the path getting here. I know we still have a ways to go, but we both have learned so much that walking this path isn’t as painstaking anymore. I realized some of the profound lessons I’ve gathered and ways in which they have altered me.

This journey has been so challenging for me as it requires literally, that I operate out of some of my greatest weaknesses. Yet, as 2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “His strength is made perfect in our weakness”, and I have seen that come true time and time again in this process. I have seen so many of these areas in my life be brought to the forefront and made perfect in His strength. Truly a profound experience and realization. As we yield to His way and His path for us, He takes these areas of weakness and these areas of pain and wounding, and accomplishes more than we could ever dream of with them.

Life today looks so different than life did this time last year. I walk in a confidence not my own but one that I fully own. I now realize that the weaknesses embedded within me, are only the cracks where His strength flows out from. In operating in my various weaknesses, by His calling and help, not only has His strength been made perfect, but I have come further into who He has called me to be. Not a weak being, but one that surrenders every weakness to receive back a greater strength than I am naturally capable of embodying.

So, at this junction, not quite half way to our goal of 100%, and I see more transformation in myself than I ever dared hope for. I’m sure I can’t even imagine what’s in store for the remaining 60% of this journey to Kenya!

Hello, 35!

35%One blessing so far this year is that we’ve reached 35% and the momentum is building! The Lord has also been opening up some interesting doors for us to continue sharing our story and building our team.

This coming weekend we will give the message at the Saturday night and Sunday morning services at my (P’s) home church, NorthRock Foursquare Church in Thornton! Pastor Jeremy has been doing a series on what it means to be “All In” in your faith and has asked us to share our testimony of this past year to close out the series. We are honored and excited! We know God has something wonderful planned for this weekend and we can’t wait to be a part of it! If you’d like to come and hear us, the service times are Saturday, 6pm, and Sunday, 9am and 11:oo am. Click here for more information.

Treading Softly

As we’ve been having these meetings, I’ve been consistently reminded of a passage in the devotional, Jesus Calling. It says, “Learn to listen to Me even while you are listening to other people. As they open their souls to your scrutiny, you are on holy ground.” This has spoken to me over the past few months. The idea that people’s souls are holy ground is so stirringly beautiful and is a poignant reminder to always tread softly when welcomed in. It is an absolute privilege to not only get to share our hearts and calling with others but to be privy to theirs. In these times we’ve experienced the sweetness of the Holy Spirit as He unites us and calls us each to something beyond ourselves.
