Dear __________,

We just wanted to take a moment to introduce you to our friends, Clinton & Pahtyana Moore. We are excited to be partnering with them and their ministry in Kenya! They have been requested by Kenyan pastors and church leaders to facilitate a unique and highly effective form of leadership development and coaching. The requested training is in how to establish small groups whose focus is on spiritual development and empowerment through discipleship. A main focus of these groups is to consistently impact the local community with Christ’s love and welcome people into God’s kingdom through relationships.

This ministry has been growing exponentially for the past seven years. By the last count, people from nearly 1,000 churches and organizations throughout Kenya have received Vision training! At least 300 of these churches have gone on to do the full training of community based small group discipleship. However, there are another 30 churches at some stage of training and coaching that have not been able to complete the training series. There is also over 1000 churches who have inquired or had someone attend a training but have not had the opportunity to complete the series. Most of the churches have been put on a waiting list for the rest of the year due to limited ministry personnel resources. Clinton and Pahtyana are preparing to move their family to Nairobi to join the team and continue this amazing work!

If you’d like to know more about this impactful ministry and how to help make this training available to the churches and pastors requesting it in Kenya, click on the attached flyer. We’d love to introduce you to this couple and to the ministry!

Thank you for your time.

About the Moores

Autumn Family Update!

Summer Update:

Disneyland! We began the summer with an epic first trip to Disneyland! At 4am the morning of departure, Clinton had planned to sneak into the girls room and gently carry them both out to the warmed car. But as he silently nudged the door ajar he was greeted by a little 4 year old who popped up in the pitch black and excitedly declared, “DADDY!! I’m ready, Daddy!!!!! And she remained bright-eyed and bushy-tailed the ENTIRE way there! This was encouraged of course,  by the surprise companions we “discovered” at the airport when we got there: Nana and Papa (Pahtyana’s parents) who then accompanied us on the trip!

It was more of a joy to watch our daughters experience this magical place for the first time than either Clinton or myself expected. It was one surprise after another, one discovery after another and we felt the Lord’s love on us every step of the way. We soaked up the time with my parents and they with us. It was nonstop giggling, squealing, running, passing out for the night and then waking up and doing it all over again. Epic. So, thank you all for your prayers over the trip. It was just what our little ones needed.  And us too. To see the album, click here!Enjolie at 2!

In June, we celebrated Enjolie’s second birthday with what else but a Minnie Mouse themed party! It was a great day filled with lots of friends, yummy snacks and lots of pink polka dots! Click here to see the album!

The summer overall has been an interesting mix of spending time with friends and family, a soaking-up-the-moment-now kind of thing, intense times with the Lord as He is diligently preparing us for the journey and work ahead and being faithful to do what He has called us to do now in finishing up this final season. We have seen Him open some surprising and exciting doors not only for current ministry but also in continuing to build our team! Step by step we reach new milestones and are continually amazed at how much we are growing and getting prepared through this process!

Autumn Update:

Elly is Ready! The summer officially ended last week with Ellyana beginning Pre-K at a wonderful Christian school not too far from our home! We’re excited for this change and the chance for Ellyana to continue growing and developing. This program and school are a blessing right now for two reasons. First, it’s a Pre-K program geared for preparing students to enter kindergarten and it is our goal to be established in Kenya by the beginning of their school year in January so that Ellyana can officially start kindergarten there. The second reason is that it provides a wonderful, rich environment for her to grow in her new relationship with Jesus. This began the day before Mother’s day when she asked Him into her heart!! So, we are thrilled that in this little season before we go, she will have another place to ask questions and learn! Click here to see the collage we created of all the preparation!Ice Cream, We Scream

The autumn is shaping up to be a very full one with Elly’s school schedule, activities for both girls, building the rest of our team, finalizing all of the details for the move/transition and investing in the ministry and relationships here! Phew, I feel overwhelmed just typing that! But we have learned SO much in this past year on how to be fully present in the here and now while always preparing for the there and then. A lesson I suspect we will greatly need in the years and places to come.

Ahh, the warm rays of 60%

60 percentWe are excited to announce that we have reached 60%!!!! This is a huge milestone because we have really crossed the threshold now. From this vantage point, we only have 40% more to raise before our family can board that plane and then step foot finally into our beloved, Nairobi!

Join us in celebrating this wonderful milestone and giving praise to our amazing Heavenly Father for bringing this about. We now have just a little ways to go!! It makes such a difference to realize that you’ve already raised what is left before you. Takes the pressure off a bit. ;o)

Can’t wait to fly past the next milestones and at loooong last be on our way!

It’s Back-2-School Time for the Moores

It’s been quite a busy past few weeks as we settled on a new school for Ellyana and got her ready for the first day. The Lord moved powerfully to show us exactly where He wanted her to go and it’s a perfect fit for our family and for our little girl’s needs right now. I’ve been in awe of God’s faithfulness to our family and His guidance in this season of preparing for Kenya. Even in the midst of preparing and planning for the there and then, He never ceases to provide abundantly for the here and now.

Below is a fun little video I put together of all of the prep before her big first day of Pre-K!!

An Autumn Ministry Update from the Moores!

August 2013

We have an exciting update from Kenya! Last weekend we were able to chat with our ministry team who are currently in Nairobi and received some amazing updates. As they shared some recent testimonies of the ministry and growing need within the country we were greatly encouraged to hear not only about some new directions the Lord is taking the ministry but also how much it is expanding.

IMG_0591The team was excited to inform us that in the last seven years, people from nearly 1,000 churches and organizations have received Vision training. At least 300 have gone on to do the full training of community based small group discipleship! One of these churches has embraced community discipleship so much that in Nairobi they now have nearly 100 Tandaza outreach discipleship groups and have increased to 4 services in different parts of the city to provide worship opportunities for everyone! As they were focusing on discipling Kenyans they began asking how they could be involved in local missions. They envisioned reaching out to the rapidly increasing Chinese community throughout Nairobi and have seen such an influx of Chinese on Sundays that they are now doing parts of the Sunday worship in English, Swahili and Mandarin.  What a beautiful realization that focusing on communities through discipleship builds cross-cultural worship in the body of Christ!

We also learned that there are another 30 churches at some stage of training and coaching but have not been able to complete the training series and over 1000 churches have inquired or had someone attend a training but not had the opportunity to complete the series. We were told that most of the churches were put on a wait list for the rest of the year since CellKenya didn’t have the training capacity to reach those churches who have requested additional training and coaching. Hearing this news grieved us and made us all the more eager to join them as soon as humanly possible to begin expanding the team’s capacity and continue developing Kenyans as trainers!

Thank you all for your continued prayers, support and friendship! We are eagerly anticipating what this fall is bringing!

In His Service,

Clinton, Pahtyana, Ellyana and Enjolie
